i'd like to spend all day doing this, but fan installation calls.....feel free to add more and respond (remember to include your name or type in a different color) (ROB)

I HAVE LEFT PAST INFO ON THE WIKI, SO AS TO SERVE AS A REMINDER OF WHERE WE'VE BEEN ON THE GILBERT LAKE TIMELINE: THE IMMEDIATE FOLLOWING IS PERTINENT TO 2014! (ROB)

2013:
As much as I have made fun of this wiki in the past, I'm glad that it has survived. Lots of good stuff (kristin)

Made fun of it? Who are you, Paula Deen? (stephen with a v)

New suggestion for boat parade theme: prancercise: (in keeping with our internet meme last year)

A bit of notice would've been nice, Kristin. I'll never be able to get my hair like that in a week. Even so, at least bring the 12 pairs of stretchy white pants that you have so that we can be uniform in our presentation (Rob)
Great idea - it's one of those videos that makes you think the videographer knew what a joke it was and how big a hit it would be in the world of digital media.
PS - that woman's camel toe is bee ay en ay en ay ess. (Stephen - and in case you didn't figure it out, my input is written in this burnt sienna color)

Fellow Gilbert Lakers,

Lyn has allowed me to send out a Wiki in coordinating the annual 4th of July trip. Thankfully, the Lopez/Senger clans have allowed us to continue to invade their utopia every summer, despite some of our best efforts to lose this privilege (most recently, see: Jimmy, Opie and Bearwolf meet Dolphin Boy and his friends). But at least they didn't stub their toenail off. In any event, this Wiki will permit for an ongoing exchange of ideas, plans, intentions, and such. Please be aware that by simply clicking "EDIT" gives you the ability to add/change/omit information on the Wiki. Make sure you click "SAVE" when finished. It's really that easy. By the time our departure for Gilbert Lake rolls around, this should be pretty interesting.

I've included some topics to be addressed, but as with anything here, feel free to add.......I know I will be doing so.

I'VE EDITED A FEW THINGS (6/21/10), BUT DID NOT WANT TO TAKE THE FUN OUT OF THIS (OR AM I THE ONLY ONE HAVING FUN WITH WIKI?). BESIDES RHYMING WITH "STICKY", THE WIKI CAN BE A FRIEND TO US ALL. - Rob

I THINK THE FLAG MIGHT HAVE TO FLY AT HALF-STAFF THIS WEEKEND. KOBAYASHI RETIRED FROM HOT-DOG EATING CONTEST! MIGHT THE SKELETON TAKE HIS PLACE?

Day and time are you leaving for Gilbert Lake

Rob & Jen - 8:58am Friday As soon as Schneider gets her but up to the tosa side of town
Lyn & Dylan - 9am Friday?
Maysoun - 9 am Friday? (transport Lyn/Dylan?)
Haley - She won't be able to make it, but she wishes everyone well! Have a great time!
Kristin - Flight arrives 8:00 Friday; departure time for Gilbert Lake I BET I WON'T BE THE LAST ONE TO ARRIVE AT LYN AND JON'S SO DON'T BE TALKIN SMACK ABOUT WHEN I'LL GET TO TOSA..............Can someone please get in touch with Kristin to let her know that we are not meeting in Tosa?
Stapels- 8:57am Friday.
Baby Stephen- I'll be driving up myself that night. Hopefully I make it up before the back 40 festivities begin.

What meal are you doing

July 2nd
Dinner - Stillwater (each person kick in $)
Dessert - Jen (ice cream cake)
July 3rd
Breakfast - Rob/Jen
Lunch - Fruit/Veggies (who?) & Leftovers
Dinner - Kristin. I might have to replicate Jen and Rob's sausage fest from last year in honor of our boat parade costumes..And of course summer spaghetti, a salad and dessert. And hamburgers with Sheboygan hard rolls for Chris.
HEY--DESSERT MIGHT HAVE TO BE MAKE YOUR OWN ICE-CREAM SUNDAES AS I WONT HAVE TIME TO MAKE ANYTHING THURSDAY NIGHT AND ANYTHING I MAKE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT WOULD BE GROSS BY SAT. I KNOW WE ARE HAVING ICE-CREAM CAKE FRIDAY, IS THAT TOO MUCH ICE-CREAM? IF YES, I'LL THINK OF SOMETHING ELSE. BE HONEST (NOT THAT i AM WORRIED ABOUT THAT)--K
Ice cream sundaes sound yummy!
Rob: Maybe just grab a bag of animal crackers or an handful of Pixie Sticks......you know, something easy. Both of these have long shelf lives, so no worries on that end.
Kristin--Actually, I'll make Brownies instead--possibly with chocolate frosting. That's easy enough. Brotha, can you spare an egg or 2 to help a sista make some brownies? (oh, maybe one year we need to do an ebonic themed boat parade!!!--I'm full of excellent ideas.)
I thought you were going for a "Lost" themed boat parade.

July 4th
Breakfast - I'll make breakfast - Bearwolf (I'll try and wake up by 6 am or stay up all night either way I'll think of something rrrrrrrreaallllll nice)
Lunch - Fruit/Veggies (who?) & Leftovers
Dinner - Hot tamales (Sheboygan style :)D...(you all know what that means) Salad &/or other side & dessert.
Bearwolf - 2 oz. bluegill filets - whenever they're biting

I think fruit and vegetables is great and I am happy to sign up for bringing them (don't worry Jen, I'll make sure it isn't fruit salad, Thank you!!!). I also think pizza is a good idea because it is easy and gives us all more time to hang out without worrying about cooking and cleaning. - Maysoun

What beverages are you bringing

Rob/Jen - 2 1/2 cases of beer, 1 case of water
Steve - 2 cases of Keystone - not kidding that's the best beer for day drinking
Maysoun - 1 case beer; 1 bottle sweet tea vodka (don't worry, you'll like it!)
Kristin -1case of beer
Chris/Bren- 30 pack of Pabst/12 pack fancy beer.
ROB: IN SHEBOYGAN, IS MGD CONSIDERED FANCY? JUST WANNA KNOW WHAT I SHOULD PREPARE MY PALATE FOR.
CHRIS: I'll give you something to prepare your palate for...what? Does it involve treasure?

Boat Parade Theme / What you will be bringing to contribute

Rob's #1 vote: PIRATES - The leftover favors and costumes from last year......the sword be inflatable, but the chains, she be REAL!!!
Rob's #2 vote: SMURFS - The more Smurfettes in white sundresses, the Smurfier. Steve - Smurfs is still the best idea I've heard in my young Gilbert Lake career.
Rob's #3 vote: MONSTERS - It's been too long since Apple Pucker Skeletor was last seen
Bearwolf's #1 vote: UW-Oshkosh/the Titan mascot - "When you say Oshkosh, I'll ask you why!" I laugh every time I read this!- Jen
Baby Stephen: VUVUZELAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or we could always do the John Wall - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ik8d7IEPdlk

The boat parade theme has been decided after the meeting at Anderson's baptism today. We are going to be the Brewers racing sausages. we will need the costumes for the kickball game anyway. Costumes will be started on Wednesday. Jen had us pick our sausage by random draw. Hopefully this will be our year!! Who's this "we" I keep hearing about making these decisions?
Jen: Brenda, Lyn, and myself picked a sausage. I laugh everytime I read this - Chris (or did the sausage pick you???)We have two lucky ones left. Our bets were on Stephen and Kristin taking the last 2. They are the chorizo and polish. Lyn is trying to negotiate the hot dog from me. I kinda like the polish. :) That would leave the chorizo and italian. There was discussion about adding a corn dog and a hungarian but I think that was turned down. After a trip to Joann fabrics we may have a better idea of how to go about creating these costumes. We'll keep you informed. Everyone else can wear original brewer gear. Hey...if you want to dress like Rollie Fingers, go ahead. Over/under 2.5 confirmed cases of heat stroke in said sausage costumes??

Rob says: "Under". If it's too hot, Jenny will say, "This thing is too hot; Rob, you wanna wear it?" Since Ice doesn't melt at Gilbert Lake, I'll be fine.

Note: Over/Under to be changed to 1.5 to compensate for this new development

I think I kind of have to be the Italian, right? - Maysoun I THINK THE BREWERS' NEW, AND 6TH, "ARABIAN SAUSAGE" MAY BE EVEN BETTER SUITED!

I WOULD LOVE TO BE THE CHORIZO! Because you know I'm spicy. I even have that bobblehead. I'm consulting with my mom tonight to get her creative expertise on costume development. Expect a prototype on Sunday. And if we need Brewer gear, let me know, I believe my brother has a ton. Also, I can make a finish line that we can use! ANd yes, Mayqual, you have to be the italian--Kiki WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY, "...YOU KNOW I'M SPICY?" IF THE WIKI CONTINUES TO BE SELF-SERVING FOR SOME OF YOU, YOUR PRIVILEGES MAY BE REVOKED. Self-serving??? I think you need to point that sausage finger back at your self Mr. Wikiman.--kiki

Also, I have a great idea for next year's boat parade. We could put a big sign on the boat that says "Monster hunters" and all dress up like scots with kilts, binoculars, cameras and maybe a bagpipe and then have something rigged where the loch ness monster could pop out of the lake periodically. ANd we could sing monster mash. Baby Stephen: I volunteer myself to be the lochness monster! I'm willing to drown for this cause. You guys remember the old saying - Die dressed as a monster or live on as a coward!! PS - shouldn't Opie be the crazed Irish captain (Finnegan) of the boat???

Rob: I concur. This is a great idea. I could be "that bastard Yankee treasure hunter who can't leave well-enough alone" (so say the Scots). Not sure who Well-Enough even is, but rest assured that I'd be the one to slay Nessie and collect my just reward. Chris: I volunteer myself to be Well-Enough

Who shall be Well-Enough's under study?

Songs to sing on boat parade
Take me out to the ball game
Centerfield
We're talkin' baseball
We know where ye live, but we don't know ye names!
How can we not at least sing one verse of Yankee Doodle Dandy?
Daddy, would you like some sausage? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGVm9b4IH…

Baby Stephen: Hahahaha I don't know what half of these songs are and the last song makes me legitimately laugh out loud every time I read it. And this is why I refuse to listen to it.

What is your anticipated record in Friski (if Kristin is your partner)
Rob - 200 - 0
Chris - 0-12-12
Bearwolf - 12 - 1 Admiral's daughter

Will Sugar hook up with Bear-Wolf

Rob's vote - yes, during the 7th inning stretch of the softball game
By hook up you mean "do the silverback", right? She won't be able to resist my musk

Anticipated Celebrity Memory

Rob's vote - Brenda describing Sammy Davis Jr. as "the Jello Pudding guy"
A game of Celebrity leading to multiple ghost stories which will then lead to Opie sharpening knives in the kitchen
As long as Tom Hanks, Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney, Uncle Sam or any other bland common celebrity isn't used, they will all be anticipated memories!

(Super) Hot topics

1) Do UFOs exist? http://www.aolnews.com/weird-news/article/stanton-friedman-a-scientist-searches-for-the-truth-of-ufos/19503350?sms_ss=digg
Rob says: I'll let you know after GL excursion this year; if they are so, then we shall see one or more, much like the Bigfoot legend was proven to be true at GL two years ago.
Baby Stephen says: The DNA test on Queen Puabi could answer this question as well as completely rock history off its crumbling foundation

2) Next state to follow Arizona's illegal immigration ruling
Rob's guess: Massachusetts
Steve's guess: now changed to the AL East

3) How do you enjoy your meals? Do you eat your favorite food first or save it for the end?
Jen: Get the yucky stuff over with first and save the good stuff for the end.
Lyn:Saved my chocolate covered brownie to eat last. Good thing I didn't choke on my chips before eating it!! :)
Rob: When it's McDonald's, I eat all my fries first.
Baby Stephen: I eat my mac and cheese at the same time.
Brenda: Usually the good stuff first, just in case something happens that I don't have a chance to get to the good stuff later. I'm leaving happy and satisfied, is all I'm sayin'. AND THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID OF COURSE. Live for the now
Delaney: I play with my toes during dinner. So she saves her favorite food for the middle of the meal?

4) What is the best bite of a hamburger? edge or middle?
Jen: Edge!
Rob: Middle, where the juice is worth the squeeze
Brenda: Middle, fo' sho'
Baby Stephen: The edge - its all about the anticipation!
Chris: The middle with a pat of butter on the bun (and by pat, I mean a lot) and by butter you mean spunk?

5) The swords they be fake but the chains they be real - or are they? Chester Copperpot sets out to prove legitimacy of...

6) During what year will our national language switch from English to Chinese?
Rob: 2012 (but it'll actually change to Ancient Mayan)
Not if I find John's ring this year

7) If we were all on the Pedal Pub, who would be the least likely to pedal? Most likely to fall off?

Rob: Non-peddler = Opie, wit his gimpy legs
Fall off = Mayquon, whose equilibrium will be thrown off by her continued hand
sweeps of spilled alcohol on the cab's counter tops.

8) Will we be more likely, or less likely, to take home the Gilbert Lake Boat Parade title if:

- The men wear Brewers Speedos (with the old logo on the front of the Speedo)
Rob - less likely, but more revered by the Golden Agers Community of Gilbert Lake
Kristin - less likely. I will refrain from saying something that would changing the G rating of this wikipage. - That doesn't sound like something a Boston Teabagger would say

- If Opie does Harry Caray color commentary during the parade
Rob - less likely, but there'd be more laughs
Kristin - more likely, they wouldn't be able to hear it but we would be cracking up
Is this jag coming or what?

- If Jimmy rides in the Scarlet Slot (decorated in Brewers' colors) as it is towed by our boat

- If Chris once again becomes Skeleton Man, but dons a Do-rag
Kristin - probably less likely, but I would really to see this again, if he also cradles Apple pucker during the entire trip
Brenda- definately more likely, who denies the Do????
Rob: Less likely with the Do-rag. Lake Gilbert is family-, not Coolio-, oriented.
Chris: Skeleton man is a myth that must never be talked about in these parts again. - Like father like son, hey Chris? He's got the Templars, you have the Skeleton Man.

- If Bearwolf showed up to knock Rocky and crew off their boat and into the depths as they continue to Mambo to the bottom of Lake Gilbert

How do you feel about using wikipage to decide on Gilbert lake festivities?

I think people should sign off when they type so we know who's talking, otherwise Rob gets all the glory :) - Haley
a) It's easy as Sugar after 6 innings of beerball
b) It's as annoying as mosquitos after having hoop phi hoop dumped over your head
c) It as challenging as winning the 4th of July boat parade contest
d.) It's as easy as cowboy hip hop:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lr7VinDUCm4&feature

Rob picks: "It's as easy, though annoying, as Sugar after 6 innings of beerball after having hoop phi hoop juiice dumped on her head (again).
